Charlie Hall's DRINK and DABBLE (Rhode Island's Traveling Art Party) is a brand new event where people gather to sip cocktails and try their hand at re-creating a chosen painting (many times a Rhode Island scene) under the guidance of talented RISD grad/comic Charlie Hall and his staff. And the best thing: NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! That's right- the only rules are to have fun, enjoy a drink or three, listen to some great party music, and take home the canvas that you just painted! And we'll show you how! Best part? portions of the proceeds will go to help building Odies Animal Sanctuary.
You don't think you have the talent for this? Fear not- our artists pre-sketch the pets on the canvas for you from photos that you email to us. You do the rest under our instruction. They come out great!
The key to making this class successful is a good, clear, up-close, well-lit photo of your pet. It can't be stressed enough! We need to be able to see the eyes, nose, body and other features clearly. Also, a more traditional pet-type pose is better than some wacky, weird angle. Send a few shots if you want, and we'll choose the best one, and try to make the best decision on how to position your pet drawing on the canvas. If you don't have any solid photos, then grab a camera or someone's phone and take some new ones! If you're photo isn't good, your painting won't be either.

....and don't forget to bring that photo with you that night! Actually bring all the photos you sent in- it might help in the painting process. Yes, you can have them on your phone to work from.
- Remember, it's one pet, per person, per canvas!!! You can't put 2 or more pets on the canvas. (We barely have enough time to finish ONE pet. Sorry.)
